meet the band
Jim - vocals
 |
Jim didn't get into music until he was
19, but has definitely made up for that since starting out. he started
playing bass, and was in numerous bands on bass and backing vocals, and was
told repeatedly that he was a better singer and should be a lead vocalist.
so off he went, with the rhythm guitarist from the previous band and formed
another, singing lead vocals and playing bass.
After a couple of years doing this, Jim decided to pack in the bass and
dedicate his time to singing, and drafted in a new bass player.
this new line up worked well and lasted three years,
until the guitarist
announced he was moving to Germany!. the band split and Jim joined crush.
this band achieved quite a bit of success, playing in the usa twice and
supporting seb Bach, brides of destruction, faster pussycat & the ga-ga's. |
Sean - guitar
 |
Sean first picked up a guitar at the
age of 9, and got his first guitar on his 10th birthday(and still has it).
although not from a musical background, his parents had a wide taste in
music, and from an early age was introduced to the likes of Nat king Cole,
gene Vincent, Elvis & a multitude of other artists.
after various
tutoring, Sean found the delights of guitar tab books, especially led
zeppelin! jimmy page and Joe Perry have had the biggest influence on his
guitar writing & playing style. and like jimmy page, he will have a bash at
any style of stringed instrument.
Sean has played in quite a few bands over the years, the most recent
being a covers band called sumico - this is where he met Tim - sumico were
only to last a short time, only to be re-united with Tim shortly afterwards. |
Kriss - guitar
 |
Kriss went thru childhood with a
passion for acting & singing, but lost all confidence during adolescence.
after a short stint of piano lessons, he needed another challenge!
upon
leaving school, he went on a drama course and met a bass player who
introduced him to guitar. his parents thought it was another fad, but bought
him an electric guitar for xmas 1993.
completely self taught, he had many jam sessions with friends, before
joining his first proper band. after the drummer emigrated, they went their
separate ways.
various other projects, of all styles, ensued before he found himself
where he is now - back in the world of rock with dropoutdogs.
with influences from metallica, iron maiden & G'n'r - this was just the
ticket!! long may it continue. |
Tim - bass
 |
Tim started life as a drummer! and for
many years, played in various rock bands in the Rotherham area. then his
life took him into the armed forces, where he never picked up a drumstick
again. after his time serving queen & country, he embarked on a
career in the fire service. with spare time now available, Tim decided it
was time to learn another instrument....but which one?......
as a fan of iron maiden, muse and the foo fighters, he noticed that each
of these groups had a cracking bass player - so he settled on bass!
he went out the very next day and bought an
Ibanez bass guitar (left
handed) which took some finding.
self taught, he soon found he had quite an affinity with the bass, so,
with barely a years experience he decided to audition with sumico, a 4 piece
rock covers outfit from Sheffield. while in this band, Tim met Sean - after
sumico split - a chance phone call re-united Tim & Sean.

Kris A - drums -
 |
Kris started playing the drums at the
tender age of 16, after a chance conversation with a friend. after just
three lessons, he decided to teach himself and from then developed his own
unique style. heavily influenced by heavier music, in 2000, his then band,
manyana, won a north west B.O.B competition....success was short lived - the
band split a few months later, and Kris moved away from both his home town
and the music scene in general.
after re-kindling his interests with a band in
Somerset, he moved back
oop north with the fire in his belly, and the aim of joining or forming a
new band.
in the summer of 2007 Kris met with the other members of dropoutdogs and
the rest will be history..................... |
